Really don't understand how Wondolowski and Altidore can be left out of the US squad. I'm torn as well between Klinsmann sinking the squad or going to the semi-finals of the next World Cup. I have no love for the US and it would be sadistically humourous if 'the anointed one' took the US team down the proverbial tubes. OTOH, a stronger US team does a lot for the profile of the sport in North America. Despite all that, the selections (or non-selections) are real head scratchers. TFC/ARSENAL
If Klinsmann doesn't work out, I here that Aron Winter is looking for a job.

BearcatSA
Gordon came on as a sub and set up Johnson's winning goal with his cross. Came up trumps!
rob.notenboom
Gordon came on as a sub and set up Johnson's winning goal with his cross. Came up trumps! As soon as I saw the highlights I imagined Klinsmann smiling secretly to himself ... chuckle. Not that a narrow win over A&B is much to write home about. The US has looked shaky during qualification. If we make it through to the hex it would certainly make our chances look much better. However, all that is still to come today ...
