jpg75
The setup is different this time around. 1st Group Round with Minnows, with the first place team from each group advancing to the 2nd Group Round. Then the top 2 advance to the Hex. Being in 8th might mean having Canada seeded in the First Group Round, meaning a potentially easier group than we might otherwise get. As long as we're not 13th or lower we will be seeded for the first round, so being in the top 8 doesn't really matter. The cut-offs that matter are top 6 or top 12 ie. 1-6 gets a bye out of the first round and 7-12 gets seeded in the top pot for the first round. CONCACAF never used multiple pots to separate the teams that are not "supposed" to qualify. (By that saying that FIFA Ranking is the best thing in the World) If they do it, fine by me, because we'll get an easier group but be sure that if there's only one draw, we have as much chance to get an easy second round than a hard one. That's why the draw is important for us. If we get a minnow, another country not named USA or Mexico and a country that has an overrated ranking, we'll be in big business.
