Good little tourny....now if MLS would only allow academy players to be moved in and out of the first team as the management sees fit....otherwise.....what's the bloody point if other teams can steal your players?

I'm pretty sure other teams can't steal your players. However, I do agree that their shouldn't be a limit on who you can promote. That's just asinine.

They can take your leftovers. Clubs are only allowed to sign a max. of 4 players (2 GA + 2 DEV) per year so they could sign your 5th best player. Of course, that's an unlikely scenario and the more likely scenario is that your 2 Generation Adidas spots are filled from a prior year (GA contracts last 3 years - unless certain benchmarks are met and accelerate the player out of GA) and you have 3 good players. Since you can only sign 2 of them to development contracts (the annual academy development contract quota) the 3rd player leaves to sign for another club.

It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds in the future.

TFC defeat Columbus 3-2!

From the link posted by Rdoze above:

Toronto FC 3-2 Columbus Crew: After scoring five goals yesterday, Columbus picked up right where they left off. It took just nine minutes for the Crew’s Chris Davis to open the scoring and give the Crew a 1-0 lead, but Toronto fired back with three straight goals. In the 13th minute, Toronto’s Matias Naalband equalized, while Jon-Michael Vieria (40th) and Eric Ngo (44th) combined to give Toronto a 3-1 lead. The Crew found the net just once more in the 80th minute when Tyler Ranalli scored, but it wouldn’t prove to be enough for the Columbus.

Toronto lose the 7th place match to Chicago:

Toronto FC 1-2 Chicago Fire: After a disappointing loss last night, Toronto looked to be out for redemption in the early going. Oscar Cordon scored in jus the 3rd minute and gave Toronto an early 1-0 lead. Just after the half Chicago was able to tie things up, which made for a very exciting finish. With the game still tied in stoppage time, Chicago found a game winning goal in the final moments from Peter Beasley.

Apparently this Chicago Fire team was a mish-mash of a bunch of affiliated clubs from places like Missouri and Louisiana.
