Based mainly on an interview he did on a podcast in the summer of 2017, I strongly suspect he steered things towards something smaller scale than John McGrane and Victor Montagliani's initial visions that has a fighting chance of actually working if they can get a few more markets on board in the next year or two so they can afford having a casualty or two along the way. Does the CPL brass really think that there are any broadcasters in the world who could possibly fit in a slate of CPL matches on just a week's notice? But, hey! Easy does it. There are still 115 days to go before the last Saturday in April. Like how long does it take to draft up a schedule for a 7-team league? Just what exactly is it that the CPL is afraid of?
