shermanator Posted October 8, 2015 Share Posted October 8, 2015 IMO, Orlando making the playoffs would benefit the MNT more, because Larin would actually start in the playoff game, whereas Tissot and Bekker would most likely not see the pitch. Larin would start and get lots of deserved attention for Sigma FC but the press in Canada with all 3 of our teams in the playoffs would be a huge benefit. The casual soccer fans associate making the playoffs with a team having a good year. Anything else is "they can't be any good then" type nonsense. I know the CanMNT games are scheduled on a FIFA date and that MLS break but if Orlando is still in the playoffs at that point you can bet they'll complain about Larin leaving. If Montreal is still in the playoffs at that point they might complain about Tissot, Bekker and Lefevre leaving but Montreal can live without them and so can CanMNT.
