bettermirror
...The Canadian Nat side is not alone. First Rossi selects Italy, even before he had much hope of making their side. Now Subotic has selected Serbia ahead of the USA. http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/8988038/Defender-Subotic-ditches-U.S.-for-Serbia Interesting, I would love to hear a discussion between Subotic and Ibrahimovic. Both left the region due to the war, but Ibra selected Sweden where Subotic elected to return home.
BearcatSA
I heard Subotic was a fairly promising prospect for the USMNT. I agree, it would be an interesting discussion to hear the reasoning of their respective decisions, but particularly Subotic.
amacpher
Some players are as closely connected to one country as another. Subotic sounds more Serbian than American if anything. It certainly not comparable to the Hargreaves situation (among others)
Desigol
Ireland will face a similar situation considering the number of Poles we have.

When I wrote "Subotic sounds more Serbian " I'm referring to his life history --> he was born in Serbia to Serbian parents. Didn't move to the US until he was 11.
