Well, if you can't get things worked out, at least you can relax in Nicaragua. Trident
What is that article about... Is there a confirmed venue?
Daniel
Yes, the Estadio de Comayagua in Honduras. One of the major problems was the lack of floodlights, except for the Olympic stadium, but who would require extensive ground work.

Who else is going ? No, I stayed in a dive as I was ultralowbudget travelling. The best way to get good suggestions is register and post on the Thorntree of the Lonely Planet site, under Central America - Honduras, ans ask about a good hotel there. I_AM_CANADIAN
I dunno, going to a game in Nicaragua is something I'd be apprehensive about. Politically, the country is still very unstable, the US are still funding their contras down there last time I checked, trying to overthrow the socialist government, and in general it's very, very poor. From what I've heard though it's not like Colombia and some of those other countries where you have to worry about being stabbed over a football match, so that's a positive. Has your head been stuck in the ground since the 80s? The contras are not there anymore. And IF they are, they are very very very small and unimportant. Proly a group of like 10 guys who have been living in the jungle because they never got the memo.

The games in Honduras.. so very different they only shot and killed ten people on the weekend in a land invasion. Since a pitch invasion is not envisioned it should be good to go.. You really should get out more.... maybe a trip to Detroit might help expand your travel horizons. "Contras" are they the ones who want the CSA out ?
