Just got word from Buzz Carrick (FC Dallas Insider) that Ibbe's mom moved to the GTA last year. There was rumors that it was his uncle that he was staying with, but his mom may also be in Canada. If she gets her citizenship does that expediate the process for Ibbe to become Canadian? If not for the national team but the roster restrictions for TFC?

It might, that's how Isidro Sanchez-Macip got to play for Canada in the Olympic Qualifying 3rd place match, citizenship of his mother.

Even though that worked out for Canada in that case, it shouldn't be. Simple way to fix things with the heritage rules. Just change it to that if the player themself does not have citizenship, they don't play for that country. Simple as that.
