youllneverwalkalone
I want to do a list for Holger. Going over the summaries I was surprised at how good his record was against superior competition (over 500) to what FY has faced thus far (cue Ed, Griz, et al, in 5,4,3,2) BUT, also, how many caps the like of Onstad, Watson, Corazzin (the villains of WCQ 04) had under Osieck. Gian-Luca
There are some other stats you could add to that list: Home Matches: 6 Away Matches: 12 Neutral Site: 2 Home Record: 2 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses (the 2 coming against Belize in Kingston) Away Record: 5 wins, 2 draws, 5 losses Neutral Site: 1 win, 1 loss What is apparent here are the few home games, and the poor record in the home games. Take out the Belize victories and we are 0-1-3 under Yallop at home against decent teams. The plus side is the away record is quite good. 7 positive results out of 12. BrennanFan
Another aspect of Yallops tenure is how many times his giving caps to players have led to contracts with Clubs. The guy is definitely into giving early/surprise caps to player just to get them exposure. yallop seems to be a patient guy, with a long term perspective on things. Definite contrast to holger's 'prove yourself first at club level' thinking. (Hume to leciester and Occean to Lillestrom may not have had everything to do with their international play). Simpson – Millwall Serioux – Millwall Serioux – Metrostars Jazic – Metrostars? Peters – Ipswich Gerba - IFK Hughes - Osters Grande – Viking Johnson – Heerenveen Haineault – Most Stamatopolous – Tromso Next... Sutton - ? Braz - ? deRosario - ?
