Massive Attack
Pat Onstad picked up the shut out and Dwayne DeRosario assisted the first goal as San Jose beat Real Salt Lake 3-0 in the MLS yesterday. Both players played the entire match. Felix Brillant was nowhere to be seen in New England's 2-0 loss to DC United yesterday. I don't think Felix has featured in a single match this year. I wonder what his status at the club is. I don't think he's hurt, seeing as he recently played in the natinal B team camp in Florida.
jonovision
Dwayne also picked up an assist and a yellow card in the match. Interesting to see that, as soon as it seemed Yallop finally settled on using him in a striker role for Canada, he was shifted to the wing for San Jose. He has taken on a central midfield role due to injuries earlier this season and is getting great reviews there.

Dandal
Swedish 2nd tier today: Trelleborg drew leaders GAIS 2-2 at home without Ademolu (yellow card suspension), Tyler Hughes went 90 as Östers IF defeated Falkenberg 4-1 at home and Stamatopoulos' Bodens BK lost 1-0 away to Väsby United. Helsingborg and Atiba will be playing leaders Djurgården away tomorrow. Important to bring points home if they want to stay in the run for the championship. Ceres
The Danish Superliga has finished and the last match of the season has been played.. Charles Gbeke and Herfølge is relegated and Gbeke never really had the success that was expected so it's difficult to say what will happen to him now.... Marco Reda at AaB has had some trouble with injuries and also was benched at times this season, but played a good 90 minutes when his club finished 4th and qualified for the Scandinavian Royal League next season... match report, standings and video highlights below.. FC Midtjylland - AaB Aalborg 4-1 (2-0) 1-0: David Nielsen (1.) 2-0: Razak Pimpong (45.) 3-0: Razak Pimpong (58.) 3-1: Allan Gaarde (81.) 4-1: Razak Pimpong (90.) Attendance: 11,738 http://www.netsuperligaen.dk/kampref.php?ID=1887 FCM and AaB still had hopes of securing Silver or Bronze medals, and it was to be an excellent high paced match, with the first goal being scored in the first minute after an excellent shot by the former Norwich, Wimbledon and AaB striker, David Nielsen. AaB also had their chances, when first the U21 NT forward, Simon Bræmer, made a good cross to AaB's Swedish midfield Star, Martin Ericsson, who hit the FCM woodwork, while after the two following corner kicks minutes later, a header by the Canadian defender Marco Reda, was saved right on the goal-line by FCM defender Michael Hansen, who made yet another save on the goal-line when the 2nd AaB corner led to a good shot by Simon Bræmer. But though it was AaB pushing forward creating some huge opportunities, it was to be FCM and Razak Pimpong scoring a 2nd goal right before halftime, after a freekick. The 2nd half also had a high intensity, but fewer big opportunities. Again it was to be the Ghana international, Razak Pimpong, scoring by an excellent shot, though this time creating his own chance by making a few good moves. With 9 minutes left, AaB finally got to score when the U21 NT winger Jacob "Taz" Sørensen made a quick run and a brilliant cross right to the head of AaB midfielder, Allan Gaarde, who could hardly miss. But it was only to be a consolation goal for AaB, since Razak Pimpong made his hattrick in the last minute and secured the Bronze medals for FCM... The question is, however, how many of the Star player AaB will be able too keep, since ther is rumours that some of the players could be on their way to FC København... Massive Attack
Rocco Placentino was subbed out in the 69th minute as Cavese lost 1-0 to Gela in the final game of the C2C promotion playoff yesterday. Cavese had 2 players red carded. One in the 59th minute and one in the 87th minute. Amazingly, the winning goal was scored in the 107th minute. Winnipeg Fury
Friend scores his fourth league goal of the season, hits the cross bar from 17 meters, and then was awarded a penalty kick (which another player took) to give Molde the winning goal. He's in the groove.

It is strange that Occean is having so much trouble this year, after an amazing rookie season from the very first games, and now it is Friend, who was not necessarily doing that great in 2nd tier, who has fit in so well. My impression though is that they are similar players, and it is curious that both are late to pro soccer via NCAA.
Winnipeg Fury
It's tough to say what the problem is with both Occean and Odd Grenland in general. Odd Grenland are in last place and have to begin putting some points on the board or they will be dropping. Considering the dire situation of Odd Grenland, will FY call Occean to the Gold Cup ? While I would love to see him in our camp, it's a tough call at this point. Hopefully Odd can put some points on the board over the next couple of weeks and alleviate the pressure. Friend definelty deserves to be called to the Gold Cup. When Friend was with Moss, FY was reported (in the Norwegian press) to tell Rob that he wanted Friend at a higher level of play. Friend took the step up and has delivered. He is now one of the top ten goal scorers in the Tippeligaen. On top of that, he is also in mid-season condition, unlike the majority of our European contingent. Both players are also involved in the Fourth Round of the Norwegian Cup: 29.6 Bodø/Glimt - Molde 29.6 Odd Grenland- Alta A very favourable draw for Odd Grenland. If Molde and Odd can progress, they will be getting close to a Norwegian Cup final. This could further complicate the situation for our Gold Cup roster. BusanBhoy
Just a proceedural question, but how do you lot find info on guys who are in the youth set ups and unders from some of these teams? Following first teamers I can manage, but when a guys in someones youth set up I don't know how to get at the juice. I find most teams sites don't cover these type of players well. Basically, I'm asking if there are some kind of reserves/ unders/ youth data bases out there? thanks for your time

Just curious, went to vg.no, and see that today there is an article in Norwegian that seems to suggest that Valerenga has made an offer to Odd for Occean. Strange, since the season is bad, and he only has a goal this year. Maybe they feel his poor performance has more to do with other factors and that he is a good prospect. From what I gather, Odd is asking 5 million kroner for him. Valerenga is challenging for the league leadership right now. It's here: http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=281478 Just to add to this, seems a few days ago another longer article came out referring to Valerenga's interest, and also, it seems, that of Lillestrom. I think there is a mid-season transfer window that opens up starting July 1 in Norway, so with Odd struggling and maybe on their way down the rest of the teams are poaching. Dandal
Atiba's Helsingborg went down 5-2 to leaders Djurgården yesterday, losing an early 2-0 lead. Entertaining game (maybe not for Helsinborg fans), Atiba as usual getting the best rating of the Helsingborg players.
Winnipeg Fury
The only salvation for Odd Grenland/Occean may be the Norwegian Cup. If Odd wins the next match on the 29th, that may interfere with Canada's Gold Cup. Especially since we heard weeks ago that Occean would have to miss one of Canada's Gold Cup matches. I am glad to see that the bigger Norwegian clubs are interested in Occean. That should be an indicator that OO is playing well, despite his club's poor showing. Dandal
Stamatopoulos' Boden is only a short way south of the Arctic circle, and since the summer solstice is this week, the club decided to take advantage. Yesterday's game started half past ten in the evening and didn't finish until early today. It was a big local event (5,223 - the biggest crowd ever to watch league football in the small town), but the game probably suffered. Boden got a somewhat tired 0-0 against visiting Brommapojkarna. A couple of good saves from Kenny, including a penalty kick, secured the draw. Midnight at Boden's stadium (check the match-clock and yes, it is Kenny in goal), no artificial light used: In other games, played a little earlier, Trelleborg got a tie on the road against Västerås 2-2, Ademolu scored one. Öster had Tyler Hughes playing 90 losing to Frölunda 3-1.
