Massive Attack
Men's Junior (U-17) Development Team Thursday, February 05, 2004 Hart Invites 18-Players To Burnaby Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s Junior (U-17) Team head coach Stephen Hart has assembled 18-players in Burnaby, British Columbia for a training camp from February 4-11, 2004. This is the first camp for the Under-17 Team in 2004. “Our first International outing was scheduled for January. However, due to events in Turkey we were unable to participate,” said Hart. “This was unfortunate, for games of that quality are difficult to find for this age group. However, we will use this camp to evaluate players and begin setting the foundation for the team.” Training Camp Roster Name Club Date of Birth Hometown Province Pos AKUOKO, Johnson Ontario Training Centre 17-Apr-88 Toronto ON F AYRE, Keegan BC Training Centre 04-Jul-88 Coquitlam BC F BARDOSSY, Karl BC Training Centre 10-Jan-88 Mission BC F BRAICH, Harman Prairies Training Centre 30-May-88 Edmonton AB D CLARKE, Shaun Quebec Training Centre 09-Apr-88 St-Phillipe QC F GRAY, AJ Ontario Training Centre 12-Apr-88 Brampton ON F KALTHOFF, Zach Prairies Training Centre 20-Nov-88 Calgary AB GK LAMMIE, Shane Ontario Training Centre 03-Aug-88 Toronto ON M LANG, Adam BC Training Centre 09-Feb-88 Chilliwack BC D MACKINNON, Cam BC Training Centre 30-May-88 Abbotsford BC D MARRELLO, Alex BC Training Centre 28-Sep-88 Burnaby BC M MAYARD, Rudolph Quebec Training Centre 21-Feb-88 Laval QC F NAPOLEAO, Bruno Prairies Training Centre 13-Jan-88 Edmonton AB D NUNEZ, Cristian Quebec Training Centre 07-Jul-88 Montreal QC F OLIVEIRA, Kyle Ontario Training Centre 04-Mar-88 Oakville ON M PEREIRA, Michael Ontario Training Centre 09-Mar-89 London ON M RIDLEY, Curtis Prairies Training Centre 09-Feb-88 Edmonton AB M WOODMAN, Mark Ontario Training Centre 20-Jan-88 Waterloo ON F Staff Name HART, Stephen - Head Coach FINDLAY, Michael - Assistant Coach LAARABI, Djamel - GK Coach/Equip. Gian-Luca
Johnson Akuoko is the only name I am familiar with, as the Toronto Star had done a feature on him, linking him with a possible move to Millwall at the end of the (high-school) year. matthew
I think I remember being impressed by Olievera at nationals. But I could be thinking of someone else. Ummm, only one keeper? cheers, matthew
Champs
im very familiar with all the ontario kids that are with the squad. My brother plays against all these kids. I really think Kyle Oliviera is a really talented player esspecially in the midfield. Also upfront so much speed with Johnson Akouko and Shane Lemmie. But either then that im kind of surprised to see Mark Woodman there hes a great player but i just think that there might be better out there. Its not a bad thing. bettermirror
hey kids from Chilliwack (my home town), Abby (where I played metro) and Mission (where I played plenty and one year of fun men's!) all have players invited. This is fantastic! Chilliwack has been getting better every year for the past 10 years. COnsistently fielding provincial and regional champions. Abby won the u17 metro nat title a few years backa s well. brilliant!
ditty
Keeper Zac Kalthoff from Calgary Foothills had a trial with Dundee United in the summer and will head over to Birmingham City for a trial in the spring.
beachesl
Good that the various training centres get a heads up on the announcement. It would also be good for morale to see their original/present clubs listed on the announcemnt too, beyond just their hometown. I've sent a respectful suggestion to CSA on this, and hopefully they will see the positives of this too.
