Daniel
Come on you whites! I would think Canada would be keen to stay with the whites. And Spain being red, I can't imagine an opposition.
The Ref
Is it known the country of origin of the Officials for the game?
VI
I am planning on watching the game on a 10 foot by 10 foot or 3 meter by 3 meter screen. Codegoat has arranged a major gathering. We are on the west coast but WE WILL BE WATCHING IT LIVE!!! Go Canada Go.

sstackho
Sportsnet is probably showing this on a small (up to ten minute) delay. I, for one, would appreciate if no-one posts goal updates if they are following on another source that is not Sportsnet.

If I were you I wouldn't count on people abiding by that. If, for example, Canada scores then those following online are going to get really excited. Perhaps there should be two separate threads? DJT
Following the game online: http://www.livescore.com/ http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/event/summary/detail,1046,2003,b,q,45.html (click on "Live Match") http://www.as.com/misc/mundialsub20/can_esp_rfsh.htm
mattbin
It's started, 0-0 at 24' by Livescore. The Spanish matchtracker Jeffrey posted a while back had this to say at 16': "España trata de controlar el partido pero Canadá tiene mayor posesión del balón." My poor translation skills give me: "...but Canada holds greater possession of the ball." This is a very good sign I'd say.
DJT
FYI, Sportsnet's broadcast is tape-delayed by about 8 minutes.
mattbin
Sergio Garcia has made a couple of runs at our goal, one called offside and the other a shot high left. Whoops, I'm misinterpreting something there--Karim's picked up a yellow. The high left shot may have been a PK, I thought it was talking about the penalty area. Stupid babelfish. At 29' they're still pressuring us.

mattbin
Goal: "Magnificent pass from Vitolo to the centre of the Canadian defense allowing Iniesta to beat the keeper." 1-0 Spain. Don't despair, boys! Get one back!
mattbin
42', Harmse out, Lemire in. At this point, is it injury or tactical? Canada doesn't seem to have generated any offense in the last 10-15 min.
mattbin
Halftime in the real world, almost halftime in Sportsnet-world. Any commentary from you jerks who actually get to watch the game? sstackho
We started off quite well, but have not done much in the last 20 minutes. Not sure where are defenders were on the pass that led to the goal.
