jonovision
Well, let's see if this works one last time -- I predict a game-winning goal from Atiba Hutchinson.
Lord Bob
Just about time for everybody's favourite, extra time. Looks like we might get it, which is a shame for my poor 16-year old heart...it's golden goal, isn't it? And if anybody gets us the winner, it'll be Iain Hume. Or Alim Karim as the eleventh penalty shooter.
mattbin
as.com, 77' and 82', Matondo has a couple of chances... my money's on him or Hume for the winning goal. C'mon, Iain, be our golden boy!!!
mattbin
Sergio Garcia is off and Arizmendi is on. Apparently Arizmendi had a run into the box with his first possession, but was cleared by the defence. Troublesome--c'mon, make some subs!
Lord Bob
Canada definately needs to substitute, yeah. Get a more offensively motivated midfielder in or something, they have ten men! Why haven't we won yet?
Joe05
we are getting our cracks Bob...its been a very even second half
Lord Bob
Judging by all the 'off the post' descriptions, Joe, I don't doubt it. But I'm incredibly worried. I need to leave the computer around nine Mountain which means that I face the very real, very terrifying prospect of missing the winner if we go deep into extra time or a penalty shootout. jonovision
Well, extra time it is. I've already made my prediction for goal scoring hero. Is it golden goal?
jonovision
For those of you who care, Colombia have knocked off hosts UAE in the other quarterfinal match played so far, 1-0.
Grasshopper
My Spanish is weak, but El partido termina empate y habrá prorróga en la que rige el gol de oro. says something about golden goal. http://www.as.com/misc/mundialsub20/can_esp_rfsh.htm Blair quote:Originally posted by jonovision Well, extra time it is. mattbin
It's just saying we're entering golden goal extra time... from Babelfish: The party finishes tie and will be prorróga in which it governs the gold goal. You heard it here first, prorroga!
Gordon
Spain is just so good. You'd never know they were down a man. Playing very smart, putting it out on the wings and having their man run at the defence. Very nice looking team. Matondo did very well to draw some yellows and ultimately get the red out. I am very impressed with the way Canada has been playing to their ability. Spain still very dangerous. Man, rueing the missed net on the rebound off of Hume Free Kick. Gaping net! Go Canada. Lord Bob
I'm very pleasantly surprised at how well Canada's been handling the sheer pressure of playing in a game like this. I've practically got the shakes and I'm sitting at school watching. But, then again, we haven't won anything since Craig Forrest and a certain Gold Cup, so perhaps I'm just wanting. I reiterate: Iain Hume for the winner. Towards the half of extra time.

Lord Bob
It was definately a good run, better than I expected. Future looks a lot better now for Canadian men's soccer than it did a month ago.
