Jarrek
Yeah ... Wimbledon should be really called Milton Keynes ... the real Wimbledon is AFC Wimbledon in the Combined Counties League.
Ivan
Thanks guys, thought I was missing another Canuck Abroad. Better be careful, I do not want Anthony mad at me again for asking about a young Canadian a la David Simpson. LOL (at myself)

jonovision
I think that's the first start of the year for Dunfield. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Good to see that he is over his injury.
Guest Jeffery S.
Yes, first start for Dunfield and he got the assist as he crossed in from the right and it was headed home for the 2nd Bury goal. Subbed out m. 87. Pesch scored the winner on a tap after Tonge did most of the work. But you have to be there, and he is there and scoring. Sheffield go tops in Div 2 after the Wigan draw. Tranmere's win was only their second of the year, hope they get back on track after coming close to promotion playoffs last year. Bircham took credit for one of the QPR goals. BBC report said this: A minute later it was 2-0, when Marc Bircham let fly from 25 yards out with a shot that Ilic could only parry and man-of-the-match Martin Rowlands was first to the rebound. jonovision
The Tranmere-Wycombe match report indicated that it was a Hume cross that was knocked in by a defender for an own goal that was the game winner in the 82nd minute. So all of the boys were involved in the attack today.
domdick
Glad Birch played last night, there was a report on some website that he had knee ligament damage and could have been out of action for some time. Anyway, he is really linking up well with Rowlands in midfield, he was unlucky not to score our second goal, the keeper made a good save from Marc's shot, and Rowlands just had a simple tap in from the rebound. On the Wimbledon note, it is riduclous that they are still called Wimbledon, when they are now playing in Milton Keynes. To use a North American example for you guys, it would be like the Pheonix Coyotes still being called the Winnipeg Jets, while playing in Arizona. David C.
Looks like Terry Dunfield played well in his return match. Match Report from: w.http://wwfootball.nationwide.co.uk/football/common/MatchReport.asp?T_ID=div3&FixtureID=21776&W=0 Bury new boy Glenn Whelan starred as the Shakers recorded their first win in five games with a 2-0 victory over York City at Gigg Lane. The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international was a calming influence in a Shakers midfield whose average age was just 20. He teamed up again with ex-City colleague Terry Dunfield, back in the side for the first time this season after summer surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder. Dunfield was also outstanding as York were outclassed from almost the first whistle to the last. In fact, Chris Brass' team managed only one shot on target in the entire 90 minutes - and that was a weak effort in the closing stages from substitute Bryan Stewart. "For some reason we were second best all over the pitch," said Brass, who is doubtful for York's next match with Cambridge due to an elbow injury. "You are going to get beaten over the course of the season but we don't want to lose like that again." Chris Porter gave Bury the lead with a 37th minute goal after York appealed in vain for offside. Lee Connell, who provided the pass for Porter's goal, centred for Joe O'Neill to head in his first for the club, 20 minutes from time. "It was good to have Glenn in to freshen things up," said manager Andy Preece. "We've probably brought Terry back sooner than we thought and we've got to look after him and he's got to look after himself." "But he and Glenn work well together and hopefully we can keep it going at Torquay on Saturday."
