Quite the fiasco on the Quebec side before this competition..FC Sparte had qualified but pulled out and Sporting Quebec took their place. A large number of players of Sparte play for Blainville semi pro team and rumors are that Blainville didn't let them go and even that the coach of Blainville was ready to resign if they went..On the side of Sporting Montreal (last year's champs as Sporting Outlaws), their coach of 2016-17 was the coach of the reserve team of Sporting Montreal in 2017--18 but they just brought him back to coach this team in the Canadian championship and he decided to leave out a few players of this season's squad (including the 3rd scorer) which caused the frustration of those players, work hard all season, new coach comes in after the league and right before the Canadian championship decides youre not going..wow..what a mess

From what I know, the third leading scorer (Abzi) is also on Blainville according to justesoccer.  It might have been linked with how Blainville forced players to pull out of the Futsal Championship. Mitchell Syla is another player who is on Blainville. I'm wondering if it was on the coach or on the players who had their hands tied with Blainville.

Sporting Montreal only had 1 high quality player outside of their starting 4 so they got way too much playing time. Result: exhausted at the final and absolutely no chance..they should have brought a couple more high quality players
