Alberto7
It looks like the Islanders experiment is over: http://the11.ca/2013/08/19/nasl-commissioner-if-puerto-rico-wants-back-in-must-go-through-expansion-process-edmonton-meetings-went-well/ No surprise as it must cost the teams a fortune to travel there. If you go to the NASL website you will see that they are no longer displaying the Islanders logo on the top. I think the idea of bringing in teams from the Carribean was a noble one but there have been more failures than anything else(remember the USL Pro teams in Puerto Rico that had to be released midway through the season two years ago?) Antigua of USL Pro went 0-26 this year playing all their games on the road. I would not be surprised to see them leave as well.
youllneverwalkalone
You swam all this way, just to lose, just to lose.
Mr.Impact
It's a shame really. Puerto Rico Islanders were extremely successful on the pitch, but the rest of the operation (stadia, marketing, travel) was always lacking.
madmonte
That's unfortunate, I was rooting for them. I guess the question of whether Puerto Rico takes up one of the international slots for teams in the NASL is a moot point now.
alberta white
Could be the reason for a hold off on Canadian expansions during the NASL's July 25th convention.
