Well, you could follow MLS and USL soccer for the summer if you are really in need of a fix :)

Do you get Fox Sports World(or Fox Soccer Channel as it is now called) in the UK? If yes, MLS games are shown once a week and USL every Friday night starting in June....

MLS is about equivalent to Championship level and USL Division One is about equivalent to bottom teams in League 1 or top teams in League 2.

what the hell is a guy ment to do wile football season is over?

please any sugestions:(

I have no clue, but the good thing is that the creation of this thread is premature. For the next month we still have:

- Champions League final

- promotion/relegation battles

- full slate of World Cup qualifiers

- Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, semi-finals and final

- A bunch of domestic cup finals

- Confederations Cup

But yeah, starting early July until mid-August life will be rough.

Yeah when does soccer end? The Canadian season has just started (I get to watch actual soccer out of doors even if it is local amateur), Gold Cup this summer, all of the above and pick a lowly country to follow in Intertoto/CL/UC qualifiing or remember Republic of Ireland/Scandinavian countries and Russia amongst others play a summer schedule. As well as the summer transfer window keeps us glued.

In the Russian League it is interesting that the top four teams are all from Moscow after 9 games:

FC Moskva Moscow 1st, followed by Lokomotiv Moscow, Spartak Moscow, and Torpedo Moscow. Who says the soccer season is over?

Right, of course soccer season never ends. But things like the Russian League, transfer window moves, Intertoto Cup, Canadian season, MLS, etc. don't really answer the question: "what the hell is a guy (in the UK) meant to do?" since none (or at most a very small amount) of soccer is actually available to watch in July.

Wouldn't it be more fun to get something amputated instead?

What exactly are the Ashes. Is it one day test Cricket.

Please explain. Thanks

It's 5 Cricket Tests between Australia and England! The Reason I posted this was to have a wee dig at the English. They haven't won the Ashes since 1987. :D

They don't have sentences in South Yorkshire. In fact, it's amazing when they can string two coherent words together.:)

Hmmm... lemme try...

What is the feeling among the majority of Sheffield United supporters living in Sheffield because I find your view a little surprising I mean wouldn’t you rather have Wednesday struggling in the championship and receiving a couple of annual beatings from the Blades and better still you being able to personally witness the renewal of that heated rivalry as opposed to having Wednesday remain in the third-tier of English football but winning the majority of their matches resulting in all the Wednesday supporters skipping about town like happy campers??

Wow. Rex Murphy would be impressed.

And, if I'm not mistaken (or at least not too, too mistaken) "The Ashes" were origionaly an urn-come-trophy that used to be awarded to the winner of the Australia-England test series in cricket.

One of the great (if somewhat plain) trophies of all time. The bails from the wickets were cerimonialy burned and inturned in a plain, ordinary urn after England was defeated for a 1st time by Australia in a test series a long, long, time ago. 1880s-1890s? Anyway, a publicity stunt by the press ment to symbolize the death of English cricket. It sort of caught on after that.

Hows that for dramatics? The Yanks got nuthin'!
