nolando
since they are poaching information off of our board why not join them check out the guatemalan supporters site at : http://foro.univision.com/univision/board?board.id=96460541 one of the recent posts says: (an interview from today??) We're a team that likes to keep the ball," Onstad said. "We don't have the biggest team in the world so we need to keep it, use our pace to our advantage and at the same time that's what Guatemala likes to do." One of the key Guatemalan threats will be striker Carlos Ruiz of the MLS Los Angeles Galaxy. "He's very sharp around the box," said Watson. "He's quick, he's brave and he's definitely going to be a handful." Yallop said Canada will continue to employ a zonal defensive scheme against Guatemala as it did in a pair of easy 4-0 victories over Belize to advance in qualifying. But the Canadians will also have to watch the playmaking of Guatemala captain Guillermo Ramirez and Freddy Thompson, another offensive threat, Yallop said. "We're looking to get the win because we're at home but we have to make sure that we do the things right that we're good at . . . being organized, attacking when we get a chance to," Yallop said. "But what we've got to do is press the issue when we're at home by trying to get at them and see if they can defend against us." and another: "uta mucha ahora si se puso bueno esto mucha arriba lo s rojos ......................... " they even have this hilarious photo too: http://foro.univision.com/univision/board/message?board.id=96460541&message.id=21970 Sad that Watson is still playing for us, isn't it! and this one message is new too: El encuentro está programado para las 20H00 locales del miércoles en el estadio Swangard. De acuerdo con la prensa local, la posible alineación de Guatemala será la siguiente: Ricardo Trigueño - Pablo Melgar, Gustavo Cabrera, Denis Chen y Néstor Martínez - Fredy Thompson, Guillermo Ramírez, Gonzalo Romero y Mario Rodríguez - Dwight Pezzarossi y Carlos Ruiz. oh man- this THE BEST: CUBRITE AL GOLDEN FISH NO LO DEJES ANOTAR - they call Hume "the golden fish" FYI If you want to add insults and especially photos sign in as nolando with the password nolando75 let the "shaight" fly
nolando
and from the same site (for us spanish speakers-where's Jeffrey these days BTW?): Si Mexico nada pudo hacer en Grecia, que se puede esperar de Guatemala en Alemania? Ambreocio. I almost feel sorry for this poor fan who feels that his Guatemalans just don't stand a chance. I say almost because I am gonna love it when we kick some serious Guatemalan culo tonight!!" The Canucks better make some noise!! www.pontaza.com To win or to die deportes@sigloxxi.com Guatemala disputes his first points course to Germany 2006 in the quadrangular one; Canada will be the host tonight. The establishment that directs Ramon Maradiaga knew the field the Swangard stage, where today to eight at night it will dispute to three valuable points front to Canada. sstackho
Part of a "translated" guatemalan article on the match here: Little importance Whereas for Guatemalan mass media the game between Canada and Guatemala monopolized all the attention, it even surpasses to the Olympic Games, the Canadian means have given little, not to say null, importance him to the party. Yesterday, the area to rest designated to Guatemala in the hotel Radisson de Burnaby, right and left became a press room, with speakers sending live reports for the Guatemalan radio broadcasting stations, reporters doing interviews for average writings and photographers "shooting", not to lose nor a detail of the selected ones, before the training in the Swangard stage, where today the Guatemalan equipment will face the one of Canada. sstackho
More random crap. (trying to kill time) Their stature and physicist are to the service of the selection By: Antonio Districts, Eddy Recinos Dark-skinned Ricardo Foster, doorman of the selection, in the hotel of Vancouver. Photo Presses Frees: Antonio Districts. By its stature and its strong physicist, to Ricardo Foster they make it see like the doorman title within the framework of chapines in the party of tonight. During this eliminatory one, Foster played three parties. Both that was made initially before Surinam. Now it is outlined like one of the main defensive arms of Guatemala to resist the aerial game of the Canadians. Foster will be the guardian of the blue one and white and for that same reason it knows of the responsibility that it will have next to his companions. "the encounter will be difficult, with many exigencies by both equipment. We are going to be put in which we want, to remove a positive result and will work for it ". The humility of the Buenosairean does not leave it by a side and knows that as much their companions Miguel Klee and Cristian Garci'a have the ability to act. "All we worked well. All we are titular, so we are prepared for when it is called on to us to play, does not matter in what moment is. I consider that if it touches to me, I will give the best thing of me, to give confidence to my companions to come out ahead ". Third encounter Foster will dispute his third party of the eliminatory one, which motivates it. "I am working for an objective and is that all we want to arrive at a world-wide one, which will not be easy, but with work, application and drags, we can come out ahead". The guardameta analyzed that according to the observed thing in the parties that Canada disputed, its aerial game can be resisted. "Clear that we can stop them. We analyzed the videos of the encounter that maintained. I imagine that they did the same one, but in the field everything will be seen ". Foster added that in this duel it will have the inspiration of his family. "they Always are with me at the good and bad moments. That is very important for me. If they are near one really is very motivante, but if first God removes the positive result I will dedicate it to them ", it concluded. Denis Chen "well we are concentrated in which one is due to do today. We know that it will be a difficult party, but are conscious to offer a good result to the fans. The preparation went to the one hundred percent to face the duel ", said the defense Denis Chen. Gonzalo Romero "we are thinking about that we are going to make reality our dreams. By that reason we tried to improve every day and in fact we are obtaining it. Something very important is that people trust us, but most important is than we trusted our work ", maintained to the mediocampista Gonzalo Romero. "We will bet to try to handle the ball. That the party gambles imposing our condition. He will be complicated, because the equipment of opposite plays ". "Canada is a rival who has his good things, ordered, dynamic with important players, but the best thing is than we know what they can do", finalized. "we are not trusted, although we know that we are able to be able to obtain the objective", it added, by aside, the forward Dwight Pezzarossi. sstackho
Two more minutes killed... BY EDY RECINOS And ANTONIO DISTRICTS, TAKEN FROM FREE PRESS He is the unique thing that counts for the Guatemalan selected one in its shock before Canada Vancouver, Canada /.-Sera' a new call to the battlefield, because today (20 hours in Guatemala), the national selection of soccer faces the one of Canada in the Swangard Stadium, of Vancouver. The equipment chapín will look for the first triumph or at least the tie, in the beginning of the second phase of the eliminatory mundialista. It would be an excellent beginning for a soccer that always lives the illusion on something greater in each adventure, in the search of a World-wide one of soccer. It is another opportunity more. The previous ones comprise of a not at all flattering past as far as positive results. History is repeated From yesterday, the nationals, who exercised themselves in the evening in the seat of the encounter, show the conditions necessary to begin with good foot. After 16 years, Canadian and Guatemalan they become to face here, in Vancouver. In that occasion, the 14 of October of 1988, Canada gained 3 goals to 2, in game corresponding to the eliminatory one of Italiá90. The nine of the same month, in the Mateo stage Flowers, Guatemala 1 goal to 0 prevailed, the only triumph that national soccer has on the Canadian. Of the three rivals integrated in the same group of this eliminatory one, Canada is the one that smaller number of times has been rival of Guatemala, a total of nine, which six are defeats, a victory and two ties. Good spirit The selection of Guatemala did not make in the morning any movement yesterday, but the technician Ramon Maradiaga determined a total rest for the group that is concentrated in the hotel Radisson Burnaby, where was made the revision of the passports of the group of players, task that was in charge of the commissioner of the Tony party James, of Jamaica. Similarly, only that in the hotel Hilton de Burnaby, the Canadians also made the same procedure. In the morning the recognition of field in the Swangard Stadium took place. The Salvadoran Rodolfo Sibrián will be the person in charge to direct the encounter, like central referee of the party.
