In England:

Hume played 90 as Tranmere got a late goal to go into the next FA Cup round after their 0-1 over Luton.

In Div. 2 Marc Bircham played 90 but QPR fell to Bournemouth 1-0, and fall off the league leading pace.

Which belongs to Plymouth, comfortable 0-2 winner away to Stockport with no sign of Jason Bent on the squad.

Bury drew scoreless with Kidderminster without Dunfield in the line-up.

In Scotland, Rhian Dodds played 90 but Kilmarnock fell at home 0-2 to Hibs, with no sign of Fenwick.

Kevin McKenna was a m. 57 sub for Hearts, in the striking mode, and he participated in the 2nd goal for the 2-0 win over Partick Thistle. Says bbc.co.uk of his participation, "Hearts sealed the points with 12 minutes remaining when Kevin McKenna challenged Langfield, who had come out of his goal and when the ball broke to Wyness, he calmly chipped the ball into the empty net."

In the lower divisions of Scotland:

Xuasa plays 90 in Falkirk's loss in the Scottish First, while Bottiglirie plays 90 as Morton Draws inthe Scottish Second. Morton 8 points clear of the rest, with 2 games in hand over Berwick.

In England, BTW, Dunfield sat out due to yellow accumulation.

Rocco Placentino is injured with a muscular problem and is not expected to be available for Avellino's trip to face Torino at the snowy Delle Alpi (did you see Juventus vs. Siena on Telelatino last week, played in snow?). This match marks the beginning of the second half of the Serie B season and Avellino are yet to win a match on the field.

Fernando Aguiar starts on the bench for Benfica, playing away right now to Vitoria Guimaraes.

Finished 1-0 with your man scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

More importantly Benfica striker Feher suffered a suspected heart attack on the pitch at the end of the game. So far they've just said its "serious".:(

quote:GUIMARAES, Portugal (AP)— Hungarian international Miklos Feher collapsed on the field and was rushed to a hospital Sunday during Benfica's Portuguese league match at Guimaraes.

The 24-year-old striker, who came on as a substitute 15 minutes into the second half, was given CPR on the field before being taken to Guimaraes hospital in an ambulance.

He appeared unconscious when emergency medical personnel reached him on the field.

He was reported to have had a heart attack, according to Radiotelevisao Portuguesa, quoting an unidentified doctor at the hospital.

Feher was not involved in the action on the field when he collapsed in injury time. The match was played in heavy rain on a muddy field. Benfica was winning 1-0.

The Hungarian striker first came to Portugal in 1998 when he signed with FC Porto. He moved to Benfica in 2002.

Last year, Cameroon star Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed at the Confederations Cup and later died. He was found to have had a heart attack caused by an enlarged left ventricle.

As expected, Placentino did not dress. Avellino earned a second consecutive respectable draw (2-2) against a team chasing promotion.

EDIT: The first report that addressed Placentino's problem said that he had a muscular problem, but a second report said that he had the flu. Either way he recovered in time to join the team for training on the morining of January 27.

As posted on General Discussion thread:

I would like to send a letter of condolence to Benfica and another to the Hungarian Football Fed on behalf of the Voyageurs. That means adding the V-logo, hope that is alright.

Our connection to Benfica is through Aguiar right now, turns out both were 2nd half subs and that Feher had a hand in Aguiar's goal m. 90 which was the game winner, totally overshadowed by what came soon after. I have seen images on tv of Fernando totally broken up (if you see images he is number 16). As I don't think anyone will oppose I will just post the respective texts on both boards when it is done, later this eve. They'll go out by e-mail and by regular post, as I think they should receive something on paper.

I have sent e-mails and will be sending written letters of condolence on the death of Fehér to Sport Lisboa e Benfica and the Hungarian Football Federation. The texts of the letters are posted on the relevant thread in the General Discussion section.
