DJT
[*]In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for December 19-25, 2003. [*]If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. [*]If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. [*]Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. Gian-Luca
McKenna started for Hearts & helped set up their first goal vs. Rangers. But its now 2-1 Rangers in the 90th minute, with McKenna still on the field. Wigan are up 3-2, Tranmere up 1-0 and Wycombe up 2-0 - outside of the Hearts match its been a good day for teams with Canadian players (and although Bent is injured, Plymouth are up 3-0 in their match). Gordon
Mark Rogers appears to have reganed his starting spot as he is again on the pitch for Wycombe. Perhaps Tony Adams will help him revive his career. Kevin McKenna has started for Hearts against Rangers as well.
Gian-Luca
Scratch what I said earlier, as three other teams with Canadians on them didn't fare so well. Bury lost 2-0, while QPR are down 2-1 to Oldham, and Kilmarnock lost 3-0 to Livingston.
Cheeta
Big Kev played in the helter skelter backline as Hearts are smarting from injurys and players lost to suspension. Hard work for a Rangers victory against a much weakened Hearts side. Radz. sets up the equaliser and then scores the winner at Goodison as Everton earn a late victory over the Foxes. Rooney came on midway through the second half against a Leicester defense apparently run down by an agressive Toffee attack led up front by Mcfadden and Radz, and netted shortly afterwords. Hopefully, the worm has turned in Everton. It's a long climb but there's plenty of season left.
batch
quote:Originally posted by Relient k Mike De Vos Scored in the 20th minute for Wigan. The score is 2-2 vs Crewe Just got back from that game. It was an absoloutely cracking match. I didnt actually know it was De Vos who had scored until i read it here. It was a bit of a scramble and i was at the other end of the ground. It was the linesman who gave the goal because the referee wasnt sure if it had crossed the line. All's looking good again at Wigan. Lets hope we can repeat todays brilliant performance on Boxing Day.
Guest Jeffery S.
Richard Hastings played 90 for MVV but the team lost 0-2 to Apeldoorn in Holland 2nd tier. Maastricht is second last in the league and suffering with only 2 wins on the year.
Guest Jeffery S.
Jim Brennan subs on for Norwich m. 52 as they beatIpswich Town away 0-2 on two Leon McKenzie goals, in the early Sunday game. Norwich is now top of Div. 1. I see Pablo Couñago was subbed on same time for Ipswich, he was a member of the Spain team that won the World Youth Cup four years ago, and has sort of been forgotten in Spain. Guest Jeffery S.
Klukowski plays 90 but La Louvière are beaten 1-4 at home by the league leader Anderlecht. Les Loups missed an early 2nd half penalty that could have put them at 1-2 and into the game after going down by 2 in the first half.

Benfica gets a big boost with the return of Nuno Gomes as starter after a long injury. Aguiar played 90 as Benfica beat last place Estela Amadora 0-3. Aguiar got a solid 6 rating from A Bola, only the goal scorers did better, among them Gomes who scored in m. 2 in his first start in months. Benfica is three back of leader Porto pending the leader's game tonight at Alverca. Next up, early January, is the Lisbon derby vs. Sporting. DJT
Rocco Placentino was Avellino's odd man out for the third week in a row as he didn't dress for his team's 1-0 loss at Pescara on Sunday, December 21. The Serie B season now breaks for Christmas and resumes January 6.
