OUA playoffs begin this week...

I've done the men's schedule only. I've figured out some of it myself so there could be errors.

Where a list of teams separated by slashes is given, the first one listed that is not yet eliminated is chosen.

ROUND ONE (Thursday, October 23)

Laurentian vs. Laurier

Waterloo vs. Nipissing

Brock vs. Ryerson

Carleton vs. Guelph

QUARTERFINALS (Sunday, October 26)

Western vs. Laurentian/Nipissing/Laurier

Toronto vs. Waterloo/Laurier/Nipissing

Queen's vs. Ryerson/Guelph/Carleton

McMaster vs. Brock/Carleton/Guelph

SEMIFINALS & FINAL (November 1-2 at Queen's/Carleton/McMaster/Brock/Guelph)

Toronto 2 Waterloo 1

Queen's 5 Guelph 2

McMaster 4 Brock 1

SEMIFINALS (Saturday, November 1 at Queen's)

(No surprises here, these were the top four teams during the "regular season". Queen's are the only undefeated team in the country (10-3-0 including their quarterfinal win).)

Weekend games:

UQAM-ETS

McGill-Laval

Montréal-UQTR

ETS-Concordia (at Loyola)

Laval-Sherbrooke

Concordia-McGill

UQTR-UQAM

The significant results:

McGill 1 Laval 1

Montréal 1 UQTR 1

ETS 0 Concordia 6 (at Loyola)

Laval 2 Sherbrooke 0

Concordia 1 McGill 0

So Montréal take first place (32 points), UQTR second (25) and Concordia third (24). (Laval and McGill miss out on the playoffs with 22 points each.)

SEMIFINAL (Friday, October 31)

UQTR vs. Concordia

FINAL (Sunday, November 2)

Montréal vs. UQTR/Concordia

As mentioned above, Montréal are already qualified for the CIS Championship as host, so the semifinal winner will automatically qualify as well regardless of what happens in the final.

OUA UPDATE</u>

SEMIFINALS (Saturday, November 1 at Queen's)

The semifinal matches I posted above after U of T dropped out were incorrect (as I said in a different thread, the rules are so damn confusing).

Queen's 0 Waterloo 1

McMaster 0 Western 0AETPK 2-4

Waterloo (who were no better than 5th-best in the OUA regular season and who lost on the field in the quarterfinal before U of T dropped out) upset the #1 team in the country (who had not lost a game all season) and now get a spot in the CIS Championship, along with Western.

FINAL (Sunday, November 2 at Queen's)

Western vs. Waterloo

NOTE: The OUA women's final between Queen's and Ottawa (played at Western) will be telecast live by Rogers Television all across Ontario at 12:00 PM Eastern.
