strobe_z
Coming soon from FIFA CONCACAF (http://www.fifaconcacf.com). The Canada Super-Patch 2003. In case anyone's confused... there is no CSL and most of those teams don't exist. I designed the six "inner" logos as well as the league logo. I couldn't find a better name for the Edmonton team than the Drillers. Nothing else seems..right? http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
Cheeta
Man, pretty fu'kin hot! Damn. If we had that Fury logo a decade or so earlier we would've conquered the CSL world and looked good doing it! Ooops. Sorry. We did. (No really. Looks Aces. Like it a lot.) Minority of one
Luis_Rancagua
Hey Strobe, for the Hamilton team, I would simply put down the CPSL Hamilton Thunder logo.
strobe_z
Steelers or Thunder.. anyone else have an opinion? http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
Luis_Rancagua
Or else, you could use the same logo for the Steelers, and try to put the name "STEELERS" on the same logo you posted. By putting down SSS doesn't look good at all. quote:Originally posted by strobe_z Steelers or Thunder.. anyone else have an opinion? http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
hamiltonfan
Use Hamilton Thunder. It is a good logo and the team is real.

Impact supporter
strobe_z If you want to want to have an eyepopping Canada Web patch site look at http://rcsl.ca for some inspiration. BTW what has happened to Quebec City, New Brunswick, Regina Rovers?? Will they be coming back in future Super Patches?
strobe_z
Thanks for the website... it's great! As for the Regina Rovers and Quebec City... well that's a good question. To be honest I didn't know anyone cared one way or the other. The main reason they were dropped was the choice of league to overwrite (in this case Switzerland). The team over at FIFA CONCACAF (http://www.fifaconcacaf.com) divided up the leagues this year for each patch in the attempts to make a "TOTAL CONCACAF" patch that could be installed all together without conflicts. I had to compromise for a 12-team CSL because I needed an 18-team league for the A-League patch. At this point though, I'm not sure if that will come to fruition as the guy coordinating the rosters - the lynchpin of the operation in terms of compatibility - has more or less disappeared. With a little work I can add up the Regina Rovers and Dynamo Quebec... but does anyone care? http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
Impact supporter
strobe_z The reason I sent you the RCSL website is that we may have to consider this as a potential model for any future CSL. Why? Because with the exception of 20 markets, many Canadian cities will NEVER have a professional team. These 20 markets whould be teams that represent a geographic area: The 20 markets: St. Jophn's Clippers (Newfoundland) Halifax Dockers(NS) Islanders FC (PEI) New Brunswick Bays Dynamo de Quebec(Eastern Quebec) Montreal Impact (Southern and Western Quebec) Ottawa Wizards(Eastern Ontario) Toronto (Cental Ontario) Hamilton (Southern Ontario) London (Western Ontario) Thunder Bay or Sudbury (Northern Ontario)Ontario Northlands FC Winnipeg Fury (Manitoba) Regina Rovers(South Sask) Saskatoon (North Sask) Calgary (South Alberta) Edmonton(North Alberta) Fraser Valley Vancouver Whitecaps(BC mainland) Victoria United (Vancouver Island) Eastenders FC(Eastern Canada Junior Elite Team based maybe in Ontario) Pacific Western FC (Western Canada Junior Elite Team based maybe in Okanogan BC) It could be possible to divide up into 2 groups or two divisions of ten teams each, promotion and relegation between the two. BTW I like the shirt colors for the Canada Super Patch But in all seriousness, do you really think that the teams like the Impact and Lynx are going to break away from the A-League and if they do not would it not be better to develop the CPSL then?? Where do you view the CPSL as I remember you had on Canada Super Patch showing a Division 1 and Division
hamiltonfan
strobe_z thats looks really good, but why dont you use the Hamilton Thunder logo. Its nice and i think its a bit nicer then the other hamilton one you have. Great job tho, its really looking good. www.cpsl.ca www.hamiltonthunder.com
strobe_z
wow... you've obviously put a lot of thought into this. Maybe I should enlist your help on the Canada Super-patches. I've done my best to capture the 'flavour' of the league we'd all like to see. The very first Canada Super-Patch was the catalyst for me finding this board. Ted emailed me with some info on Victoria United after I'd put "Royal Victoria F.C." in my patch (for FIFA 2001 - and I STILL like that name for the record!). Little did I know the discussions I'd sparked, but I was glad to take part in them, and they made a big difference when I started working on the FIFA 2002 version of the CSP. Last year I had a huge patch with both a CUSL1 and CUSL1 (CPSL), but that was a ton of work, and I wasn't quite satisfied with the results. It was also difficult to mix the "real" with the "fantasy" in that, to be honest, I wasn't really satisfied with the state to the "real". Proof of this is that I used hardly any of the CPSL logos and decided to make my own. This year I spent a long time on the 18 team A-League patch, so I wanted to tighten up the CSL patch. I spent more time working the logos out and planning and plotting the colour schemes and kit designs and I'm much happier with the results. As for the Hamilton Thunder... I used Hamilton Steelers 'cause they've been in the patch since the beginning.. and I'm kinda partial to the yellow/black colour scheme. I can be persuaded though... http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
Jarrek
Personally I prefer the name Hamilton Steelers. I think this name has to do at least with a bit of Hamilton's tradition of being a steel making town.
strobe_z
After a little poking around, I've decided to add 5 teams to a CSL2 for the patch. These teams will only be available for promotion/relegation (or unless you use FCDB XP or another FIFA editor to set up your own 12 teams). I'm still hoping to release the patch on Canada Day...but we'll have to see. I've decided to go with... Dynamo Quebec Regina Rovers F.C. Toronto Blizzard (using an updated logo from Jarrek!) London City and either New Brunswick Bays or Royal P.E.I I can't make up my mind on the last two, anyone care to comment? http://www.fifaconcacaf.com/strobe_z/Voyageurs.swf
