Canada vs. Poland

Recommended Posts

Friendly on February 20 in Cyprus before the tournament:

Don't let the red and white fool you. That's the 31st ranked Poles. The teams in the 30-40 range (like the Poles, Romania. Serbia, Portugal, Austria and Hungary) take turns beating each other on any given Sunday. The Poles and the Hungarians are two of the better.

They have a younger pool than us by a couple of years, but it's mostly building for the future and the 11 they play with are about the same age as us. They've started a couple of 18 year olds but have the older players to balance it out. They are well-coached and were in camp in November and again last week.

There are a few Canadian players tied up with European clubs so it should be interesting to see who's in our camp.

The tweets have died out so I'll post this now. The game was great, but even that's secondary today. Whoever proacted and with their BlackBerry and did this stuff for the CSA and brought them into 2010 gets player of the game, mvp and man(or woman)-of-the-match.

That is just great stuff. What a gift to be able to see it. Really enjoyed the interviews too.

The Polish goalkeeper's positioning and reaction was pretty weak on Sinclair's goal and she got unnecessarily no-manned by Parker's nice chip, but the third was no fault of hers and a polished piece of work by Matheson. Although nice as it was, the play of the game goes to Jodi-Ann Robinson at 0:29. Classic.

As soon as they change the links on the channel from red on a red background the CSA should embed those links in their articles and put that link up in prime real estate on the homepage.
