De Guzman Brothers Out Of UEFA Cup Clash

Canadian brothers Jonathan and Julian de Guzman react with delight when their teams were both drawn in Group H of the UEFA Cup.

Feyenoord's Jonathan de Guzman made it clear that he was looking forward to facing his elder brother at such a high level, while Deportivo midfielder Julian couldn't wait for the encounter either.

However, they will both be able to join their mother in the stands when their team-mates enter the pitch on Thursday, thanks to injury trouble.

Jonathan de Guzman has been struggling to get fully match-fit ever since the start of the season, and the 21-year-old is currently unavailable due to a groin injury.

Meanwhile, Julian de Guzman has been ruled out of the match, too. The 27-year-old won't have recovered in time from his muscular problems.

I don't know. Pretty crappy actually. The contest would have made the print all across Canada and that's never a bad thing.

I would agree about the missed exposure opportunity.. plus maybe Julian would have slide tackled some sense into his bro and they would both end up playing for our national team next year... hahahaha!
