A running-track sucks for about 20-30% of the fans, but it doesn't hinder the football match in any way. Did you see that CL game last week involving Sporting Portugal? The ball kept running-away from the players in an unfamiliar way. I guess it's better than playing in mud, but when its not winter I can't imagine a dumber thing to do than to play a football match on turf.
