Should an international panel of experts appoint..

our next CSA CEO and President. Should we be placing in power individuals that work full time in soccer and not part time. Is it right that a full time Fire Chief be the President of our National Soccer Association? Should not the position be full time and someone who has professional soccer experience with experience as being a coach, athlete combined with proven management and business skills. The position should be full time and not a volunteer 3 year position. How can you plan for the future of soccer in Canada with a rotating short term elected President.

Should recreational provincial associations be appointing our President? Should the position be based on merit and technical qualifications and not on politics.

I think we need to get the government of Canada involved to hold an inquiry as to why Canada is not performing (similar to what was undertaken in Australia) in Soccer and whether our election and appointment structure can be improved. After all taxpayers money is involved and we are entitled to have the best system as possible.

Much like my wife is heard to say, "I want that 10 seconds back".

Waste-o-time.

How is this a waste of time? Proper leadership, or lack there of has been a major problem for football in this country. Leaving this problem to sort itself out might take a very long time... This country needs expertise which is not currently available here so why shouldn't we seek it from elsewhere? Do we have too much pride to ask for outside help?

I'm not sure about a national inquiry, but certainly it should be held at the highest level of Canadian sport/soccer. Of course that won't work because that's like a guilty party holding their own investigation. Who's going to can themselves !

So yes, your idea of having a study group (expert panel, of course outside the CSA) would have merit.

It is an association voted by reps from federations. It is democratic. If you don't like the results get involved and try to alter them, come up with another candidate.

The CSA president is not appointed and should not be. If the organization does not work, well just the same as if any other voted executive were not working well.

On the money!

Love the sport, but it's more complex than finding a better management.

Baseball, football, hockey and basketball dominate the money sports in NA and until, or until, soccer gets the same, we're all just fooling ourselves.
