BearcatSA
Prior to the Portugal-Holland match), a friend and I were discussing players who really stood out with their performances and one guy who we both were impressed with was Maniche: his distribution has been superb, regardless of whether he has hit short, medium, or long range passes, he seems full of energy and, until he hit that cracker in the semi, went about his business with not nearly as much fanfare as the more heralded Figo and Ronaldo. I would argue that he has been Portugal's most important player: "he's the straw that stirs the drink ."
Mimglow
Not only that, but his name in French means: "My Doghouse." Perfect.
Former Champ
When I heard Figo was man of the match (semi final)I couldn't believe it. That Maniche guy was stunning.
Cheeta
Ronaldo seems rather plain for long spells. At least to me. And for every good cross he sends in there are six crap ones. Figo that last match was as good as he's looked in years. Somewhere he found a step again. Where? I don't know. But he sure seemed narc'd up to me. I don't think Maniche has gone un-noticed though. He's been beyond reliable.

Desigol
It was a nickname. After a Danish Striker who played for Sporting Lisbon, spelt the same way but pronounced ma-nick-a.
