Moosehead
No Olympics for the Canadian women when they should have been a shoe in; Crappy ranking for the men 91 in the world (must be a lot of small islands ahead of us) One positive is U23 result in Qatar. Where is the happiness? I going out to drink lots of green beer.

Gian-Luca
The 91st ranking isn't anything to be happy about, but its not really anything to be unhappy about either, except what it might do to the chances of some players who want to play in England. We , played , no games since the last ranking. I wouldn't take too much from this current ranking. Haiti's current ranking comes in part from recent WCQ games , which we didn't take part in. Canada, just doesn't play enough games , to get higher rankings.
Gordon
Playing a handful of friendlies away is a tough way to build a ranking. Canada will crawl into the top 50 if we make it to Germany. The rankings are rigged that way.
redhat
Although the current results and rankings have been depressing, there are several positives to highlight: 1) U20s result in UAE. While not earth-shattering, it just reveals that we have a great group of players to build with, considering we weren't expected to go this far. Spain in the quarters in ET? Hmm. 2) Emergence of several players in Europe : Stalteri in Bremen, Hutchinson in Helsinborg, De Guzman in Hannover, Aguiar with Benfica, Radzinski at Everton ... 3) Recognition for "new" stars: Hume at Tranmere, Hutchinson, Occean in Norway, etc. Also for "old" ones like Peschisolido, DD, Aguiar, and Onstad. I didn't expect a lot of these. 4) Brand new coach in Frank Yallop 5) Two MNT games to be played in June. It seems that we've hit rock-bottom, but let's just wait and see. Our rankings will change when we play more and get results.

Canada can be very competitive and with the other Nations not looking our way we may surprise many. The key will be a good start. The CSA however, should sit back and observe the value of a proper youth set up. Paul James, Ottmane Ibrir had good support, preparation and the players gained valuable experience from this. Just look at the crop, Hume, Hutchison, DeGuzman, Nasilawa, Motondo etc. etc.
