Varsity Tyler
Did I fall asleep and miss out on the distribution this year, or have we sent out any at all?
Marc
I don't think it was done, unless someone did it sneakily automatically. Can we do happy new years cards? Or is that too cheesy? I'll put in sometime doing it over christmas break, I don't mind.
Reza
nope..not done this year...just did not have the time on my side at least and the money issue is there as we have to deal with long term financing of the site, the voyageurs cup and all. We always sent it through CSA as we don't have all the club addresses.
matthew
Let's still do this. Even if we're late, who cares. It was the first thing we did as a group (outside of attending matches) and I really want to see it continue. They're sort of a non-denominational happy holidays kind of thing anyway right? So we have a little wiggle room. Where do I send my cheque? cheers, matthew
Marc
Well I'm free to get working on them after Thursday, given some direction (re: addresses, CSA or clubs) and some help in the form of money. Anyone on the West Coast up for splitting the job?
Reza
My money is in, but no time at all this year..I always forwarded them to Morgan Quarry in the past btw...
Mimglow
You can count on me $$$. I'm very eager to contribute. I think the players appreciate this more than anything else we do. Imagine sitting at home in Sweden or whatever, and getting X-Mas cards from Canadian soccer fans. It must validate their lot in life.
bettermirror
I am all over this. please be in touch. i am on the left coast, so i can help out that way. let's get this done. email me the details. you can count on some cash from me. bettermirror@hotmail.com
Varsity Tyler
well i'm in too. this has been done in the past by dividing up players by region and then having each person handle their own list.
Marc
Ok what's the criteria then - abroad players only, just full-fledged Nats, u20/u23ers too, only capped players?

Varsity Tyler
There's a lot of people on that list. I did a quick divide of it. The top list is pretty much who I feel are the 'must sends'. They're pretty much the first team regulars. The second list is juniors. They should get cards as time/resources admit. Jazic Menezes Hirschfeld Radzinski Brennan Godfrey Peschisolido Bent Bircham de Vos Hume Rogers Canizalez Julian DeGuzman Stalteri Nswaliwa Hastings Aguiar Fenwick Mckenna Xausa Hutchinson Pozniak Imhof deRosario Onstad Yallop Fletcher Watson Stamatopoulos Oppong Placentino Dunfield Masciantonio Jonatan DeGuzman de Jong Klukowski Dutra Harmse Reda Belotte Edgar Bernier Friend
Reza
It was both men's and women's team players in the past and only senior teams. so essentially any player capped by the senior team. It was only divided once by region and it turned out to be too much of organizational headache like that.
Marc
True, women too...then we should limit it to Mens and Women's full nats and maybe the u20s since they've done so well?
Reza
It adds up very quickly. I am sure the senior women's and men's as it is right now will be about 65 or so considering all the new faces in the both teams. Just limit it to the two. Otherwise, it becomes a monumental task. JayWay
Do we know that every player celebrates Christmas?
Marc
They're seasons greetings cards, not Christmas or anythign remotely religious. Reza's got a point though - money-wise it woudl be a pain to split them up, who gets money from whom etc etc. Do we still want to divvy them up? Or one of us can take the whole load, I have no preference.
Mimglow
I can take the whole load, I live in Ottawa and can simply drop them off with the CSA. Is that okay with everyone?
Marc
Sounds good to me (but if you need help feel free to ask.) Can I get your email to get your address to send $$? Thanks.

Mimglow
Alright, here's what I'll do. I'll go out and buy a bunch of cards (I'll go through the list of players and see how much I need). I'll come back on here and let you know how much it cost, but that's not my biggest concern. What I would love to do is personalize the cards. Just a little blurb on the player's achievements in the past year, club and country, and wishing them a Happy Holiday. If we could divide the list up and then come up with these blurbs, I'll happily inscribe our blurbs into the cards. Can we get this done in 48 hours I wonder? Would love to drop them off by the end of the week. What do you all think? P.S. Hurry! Hahaha
Mimglow
Okay I bought the cards. Now all we need to do is decide who gets them, and who writes what greeting... I think there are about 6 of us, of which I don't know who feels like writing. I'll get on it right now... Let's see who we'll send to. I bought 3 boxes of 18 cards, so we have 54 cards (more can be bought).
