Canuck in Boston
Couldn't believe the pro-USA colour commentating...especially bad even for US television. Tony(whatever???) kept saying over and over that " the true test will be Germany's fighting spirit...can they match that of the US ?" must have been twenty times. Kept saying what a huge upset it would be if Germany won. To me Germany was every bit USA's equal and then some. The woman was just as bad if not worse. They both wanted a penalty granted late in the match for the collision between the German keeper and a US forward at the edge of the box. It was very borderline yet both were claiming it to be blatant...saying the keeper purposely "took out" the US forward. J.P. DelaCamera did his usual fine job of trying to keep it balanced and objective. He almost sounded embarassed at times.
L.T.
Tony was better during the Canada-Sweden match (no country pride involved)
amacpher
Yeah, they're brutal! Apart from J.P. that is. You should really watch the games on the spanish stations even if you do not understand spanish! Or maybe just put your TV on mute. That way you block out the ferner noise as well. Crazy_Yank
The announcers did suck. Germany is a better team than the US. They were able to match the US' athleticism and played a far superior game tactically. I've been saying for a long time that the USWNT is tactically naive. This match proved my opinion.
