I am aware of the reason why this is done...but there is currently only one ownership group in the CPL that is doing this.

I explained this in another thread, but I have gone through the box scores for every CPL game so far this season, and Vancouver and Pacific are the only 2 teams that regularly have only 5 bench players for away matches.

Even York United, a team run by the league, has never had only 5 players on the bench for a road match.

I understand the desire to control costs, but putting your team at a competitive disadvantage is not the way to do it.
