ag futbol
While 1) is re-inventing the wheel (at least some clubs have access to or already use software to create drills and have access to online resources at least in BC, 2) seems realistic. Note in BC people seem to have more of a connection to the CNWT than the CNMT because they actually live and play here. ie this might be much easier to do with girls teams than boys teams here. Oh I don't want to compete with club-specific software. I want a basic set of videos that everybody can access as opposed to the limited audience under license. To start I'd focus on one age group and point out 5-10 drills that players can do individually to increase their skill. Not team focused, as that would get more complex and time consuming. There's a lot of this stuff out there already, but I've yet to find anything that was well-organized and easy to follow.
The Beh
I had to take MED for Ringette. It's here: http://www.coach.ca/elearning-s13846 Respect for Soccer is the same idea as Speak Out in hockey. (They're migrating to the name Respect in Sport) Rather than use the website menus, I always use google -> http://www.ontariosoccer.net/organization/respectinsoccer/respectinsoccer.aspx Thanks Paul. There was still no info on costs though. Are they free? Did you pay for your MED?
paul-collins
I don't recall paying; once you are registered as a coach with Coaching Canada (through your initial course in whatever sport) you just log in and do it. The RiS course in hockey did cost, but my association reimbursed me for that also.
madmonte
Dare423 mentioned NCCP at the beginning of this thread. I think anyone interested in coaching should do it, it's a very valuable course and is becoming mandatory in most sports. There are two levels of NCCP. There is NCCP A, and NCCP B. NCCP stands for National Coaching Certification Program. Here, in Alberta, you can call local college and see when and where the course is offered. Myself, I am booked in NCCP A November 24 and 25th (it's a two day course), and then I'm booked into NCCP B on December 4th and 5th (also a 2 day course). For those wondering about the cost, it's $100 per shot, so for that, definitely worth your time, especially since, as I mentioned, this is the course that is becoming mandatory. I could speak more about it, but a link should work better for those truly interested. http://www.coach.ca/coach-training-in-canada-s15408
