Really slow-paced match on a burning-hot afternoon. While Fiorentina had more possession, including in the final third, the Impact matched them in terms of scoring chances ... Rocco (who looked the most dangerous man on the pitch - albeit in a match where often he was the only person able to run at full speed) hit the post towards the end of the first half. Jordan made several nice saves in the first half. At the very end, with everyone exhausted, DeRoux had a few nice runs on the left. Byers rushed a scoring chance while being closed down ... there's not too much else to say. There were one or two mis-times tackles in midfield, but otherwise not too much aggression on display. The Impact can be proud of looking very competent against players with a high technical ability ... but it was more of a useful training session than an actual match.

The stadium was about half full, and UM02's chanting matched the pace of the play - impressive in the first half, slow in the second. It was funny to hear, almost in the 90th minute, the Fiorentina keeper (not Frey, Avramov?) yelled at his defender not to foul out wide ... who promptly fouled, giving up a free kick.

For 22$ it was a fun afternoon ...but I'll take a real match against Rochester in the rain any day over that ...

The Fiorentina players totally folded in the final 15, it seemed they were scared of the physicality as they were griping at the ref alot. DiLorenzo should feel proud, he ran the right back ragged in the final 20 minutes including several cute nutmegs and the like. That right back should be ashamed.
