Jazic to Chivas

It seems improbable that it hasn't popped up over the past few days (and apologies if it has), but I haven't seen this on our board:

Chivas USA acquires D/M Jazic from Galaxy

CARSON, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) —Chivas USA was certainly busy at Thursday’s MLS SuperDraft.

In addition to selecting Wake Forest midfielder Michael Lahoud with its ninth overall selection, Chivas USA dealt its second-round pick - 19th overall - in exchange for defender/midfielder Ante Jazic as well as a third-round (No. 35) and fourth-round (No. 49) selection.

“We got (four) players. It was an OK day for us,” coach Preki said.

Jazic is a 32-year-old Canadian international who spent three campaigns with the Galaxy, notching three assists in 44 matches.

“We needed a left-sided player, an experienced guy whose been in the league for a while, a guy who knows how to attack,” Preki said. “We’re pretty happy with the addition.”

Chivas USA selected forward Kyle Christensen from the University of Denver with the 35th pick and selected Wake Forest’s Jaime Franks with the 49th pick.

“(Christensen) was one of the better guys at the combine,” Preki said. “So we felt he had something and felt we needed to bring him in and give him a shot.”
