Your exactly right ... they are major part of the political and structural problem, they have no purpose that is valid, and cannot be uploaded to a national club elected Federation...or managed by the Districts elected by clubs...and under the National federation direction. The Ref
Assuming the Government will not intervene or commission an independent restructure report unless of course some of the current board members resign, an unlikely possibility as it would cause their own province to look bad, or if we fail to influence politicians who in turn can influence the Feds. So who will the dying CSA elect as president? It may be difficult to find a -yes boy- who would be dumb enough to be just a figure head. In all likelihood they will elect one of their own. I predict Montigliani from BC will be the new chair. That too will contribute to the ongoing demise of the CSA.

I get the sense the CSA has one chance to morph..or be dead within twelve months.. that is to elect a new president with the mandate to bring together a National Conference of stakeholders.... that is : clubs ... fans... national level player reps... and form a new constitoin that removes the provinces from the equation of power, moving power down to the clubs and players. The National federation can then restructure soccer from youth rec up to national level in a coherent Canada wide structure ..establishing true national club playdowns to national champions ..and building proper residential centres for sport development. Any failure of the new CSA president to deal with the structure ...because she is protecting the provincial fiefdoms will only lead to a greater outcry. Clubs at all levels need to be saying they will pull funding to the existing CSA structure. Where is the president of TFC and the Impact and Whitecaps...when will the clubs in the CSL start putting out press releases demanding change...?
