Start fan in exile
Stephen Ademolu is having an excellent pre-season with Tromsø. The coach has made it clear to him he will no longer be moved around the pitch, but will get to play his preferred position - striker. Stephen has risen to challenge, and has been their most consistent striker in the pre-season, and has been rewarded with lots of playing time. Last year's starters at that position - Ole Martin Årst and Sigurd Rushfeld - are considered two of the best strikers in Norway, but are both on the downside of their careers. Both welcome Ademolu's good form, and think his strong play will benefit both them and the team. http://fotball.fvn.no/incoming/article75771.ece
rednwhite
Some video from the pre-season training camp in La Manga. http://webtv.tv2.no/webtv/fotball/?ref=til Has a interview with Patrice as his team won a football tennis tournament. The match Viking-TIL is also available there. The local newspapers are also down there making web-tv. In this http://www.nordlys.no/sporten/til-magasinet/lamanga07/article2610825.ece Ademolu talks about the match against Viking. It's a very short interview roughly halfway into the video. As Start fan says, Ademolu is having a good pre-season and he is aspiring for a place in the starting XI. Times certainly have changed since January when he was all packed up and ready to go back to Sweden.
Start fan in exile
Patrice Bernier is expected to start Tromsø's training match against Viking (16.30 local time, 10.30 am EST). It will be his first action since recovering from his off-season operation. He has told local media he only expects to play 45-60 minutes. Stephen Ademolu will also start, but Kenny Stamatopoulos will be on the bench as usual. matchtracker: http://fotball.fvn.no/stat/index.jsp?service=kampendirekte&matchId=40100008&seasonId=default&refId=default&vm=false According to this article: http://fotball.aftenbladet.no/eliteserien/article76339.ece, the match will be shown live on web-tv (single-camera, so don't expect great production) but I can't find a working link to the feed yet. Start fan in exile
quote:Originally posted by jpg75 "page cannot be displayed" Not working for me either... Bernier lasted 62 minutes; decent enough comeback, and just missed with a long shot at net. Viking up 1-0 with about 20 min. left.
Start fan in exile
And 1-0 was the final; Ademolu went 90. Elsewhere, Rosenborg are worried that Lars Hirshfeld may work his way onto the Canadian MNT for the Gold Cup - it means they would be without him for at least 5 Tippeligaen matches. Earlier this winter the team contemplated getting an experienced backup when Lars was injured, but changed their minds when he recovered quicker than expected. Current backup Aleksander Lund Hansen is quite young and does not really have the authority to carry the team for 5 games.

BTW, when does the league starts?
Start fan in exile
Update on Kevin De Serpa: he is no longer with Stord Sunnhordaland, but has moved to Vard Haugesund. http://www.h-avis.no/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070221/SPORT/102210016/1072/SPORT The article states De Serpa is playing for them without pay, and is dated Feb. 21, 2007. Vard are one of the older teams in Haugesund. When FK Haugesund was formed through the merger of some local teams a few years ago, Vard refused to go along, and has ever since been on the losing end of a battle for dominance in Haugesund soccer. Just recently, however, Vard ended their long feud with FK Haugesund, and have entered a partnership with the 1st division team. Vard Haugesund play in Division 2, section 3 - the same level Stord was demoted from last year. The Vard homepage is here: http://sc.no/fotballweb/start.do?siteId=4 The only mention I can find of Kevin on their homepage is a short piece that lists the roster for tomorrow's training match against Sandnes/Ulf; Kevin is listed as not playing due to a broken finger, but is expected back next week. Before joining Vard, Kevin was also on trial with Division 1 team Løv-Ham, but was not offered a contract. He had tried out with the Bergen team in Jan. 2006 as well. http://www.tvhaugaland.no/tvh/sportsak_kommentar.asp?id=2032

Start fan in exile
Tromsø and Rosenborg are playing a training match right now - started at 15:00 local time (GMT +1) No score to the half. Lars of course is with the Canadian nats, but Ademolu got the start for Tromsø. Bernier is injury-free but started the game on the bench. live video feed: mms://live.alleredge.com/AE_TVAdressa_Event

Start fan in exile
A bit of a yawner. Ademolu had a couple of chances in the 2nd, and was subbed out at 77 min. Bernier looked a little rusty but helped his team take a little of the midfield play after a good Rosenborg period. He was also the architect of Tromsø's biggest chance shortly after he entered the pitch. Rosenborg won 1-0 in the end. Two pre-season games left for Tromsø, 1 for Rosenborg before the season starts April 9.
