RealGooner
Media coverage of foreign (european) soccer is much better than a few years ago at least in the GTA market. Local soccer isn't covered much as there is not much interest. I would like to see more coverage of Latin American soccer though.
canso
There's two threads below this one started by people who are pleading for any info as to how to see a game on TV...and no one is responding to them. That should tell you something.

john tv
Do you believe that the media is doing a lousy, medium, good or excellent job in reporting on soccer. Do you believe that the media has something against soccer . Do you believe that we can help soccer with our efforts to phone,e-mail or write articles about soccer and do you believe that we can make a difference in the soccer reporting in Canada with our efforts to make them aware of their civic responsibilities in amateur soccer as wel as well as so called pro soccer. Do you believe that our girls should get more attention from the Canadian media since they are ranked in the top teams in the world and represent our country on levels, hockey even has not touched, meaning the whole world. john tv
I guess I made a big mistake, the question should read in reference to the coverage of Canadian soccer. Outside of the obvious, a winning team gets more coverage, it conradicts itself since our Lady Lynx have a winning record. Is the media against women soccer ever more so than the boys or does it go deeper than that.Hey our girls are in the top 10 or so and this is the most popular sport in the world and we have more boys and girls combined playing soccer than any other sport by a mile.Canada is even rated higher than the Scotts in the FIFA ranking in the men. When I watched all these sport talk shows I realize how deeply rooted the dislike is by these major media guys against soccer.A winning team will not make the difference, what will? quote:Originally posted by Yob Looks like the FA Cup was Just behind the Jays, Basketball & NASCAR, but ahead of Champ Car, F1, Boxing, & non-Jays Baseball From Globe & Mail, Crosby contributes to another record By WILLIAM HOUSTON Wednesday, May 25, 2005 – Page R8 Excuse the formatting: Rating the weekend SPORT EVENT NETWORK VIEWERS SKINNY Friday Baseball Blue Jays-Nationals Sportsnet 221,000 Only mild interest in the old rivalry between Jays and former Expos.
