The marker opened to the mediocampista Gabriel to it?Gavilán? Go'mez, who turned a doubtful penitentiary tooted by the colegiado Rolando Vidal on Trimming Rodriguez to the nine minutes of the party. The second annotation of the lead ones by Gary Stempel arrived at the 62 minutes by interval from just entered Elías Ortega that pushed a ball served from the right by Go'mez and who escaped between the legs to the Canadian doorman Daniel to him Fernandez. The Canadians, after as much insisting, managed to find the goal when Dylan Hughes deceived the defense to the 86 minutes and beat to arquero Carlos Valdés, who had had little activity under three woods. During the first part, Panama played more to give spectacle than to try to apply the simple game in search of the goals whereas Canada with its peculiar pelotazo as soon as it got to trouble to the national goal Valdés. On the final minutes, the Canadians of trainer Dale Mitchell went upon the Panamanian arc, but they could not obtain the tie. On the other hand, Stempel was satisfied with the result, but it noticed that they lack many things that to correct. defense was one of the best lines, the equipment was ordered and the goal of them arrived when we had 10 men, because it had to leave injured to Irving Bailey.

Mexico wins to Paraguay In a very even party, the selection of Mexico overcame to first hour yesterday in the Rommel stage Fernandez 2-1 to Paraguay, with goals of Jesus Aldo Nigris. Nigris opened the account when as soon as 14 minutes gambled and returned to perforate the guaraní goal eight minutes later, which gave opportunity him to the Aztecs to handle the commitment until the rest. To the return of the dressing rooms, the South Americans, lead by young trainer Rolando Chilavert, left animated opening by the bands and its effort gave fruits to the 51 when Andrés Perez Matto finished off a center to surpass to the Mexican golero Antonhy Silva for the one of the discount. The Mexicans ended up removing water from well because the rapidity of the adversaries unbalanced them and after his fortune Jorge Aranda it did not reach to define to two minutes of the end which could as much have been of the tie. Interesting to see that we started a 16 or 17 year old in the back in Edgar (who didn't even make our U-17 squad earlier in the year). Also, that we did not have a recognisable forward on the pitch until the 67th minute in Lemire. Finally, Hughes the scorer is also an underage player.

Seems like a good result given the fact that we are missing our three best strikers (Wyn, Godfrey, Hume), plus a key player at the back, Marshall. Seems the team is definitely intact and that we will handle things okay for the rest of the games.

Here's a better translation of the relevant part of the article:

The Panama under 20 team beat Canada 2-1 last night in Rommel Fernandez Stadium, on the first day of the Centennial Cup that serves as preparation for the participating teams on their way to the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates this upcoming November.

The scoreboard was lit up first by midfielder Gabriel “Gavilán” Gómez, who converted a doubtful penalty on Orlando Rodríguez called by referee Rolando Vidal in minute 9 of the match.

The second goal by the team trained by Gary Stempel came in the 62nd minute from Elías Ortega, who had just subbed in, after pushing in a ball crossed from the right by Gómez which slipped in between the legs of Canadian keeper Daniel Fernández.

The Canadians, after pushing insistently, were able to find the goal when Dylan Hughes ridiculed the defense in m. 86 minutos and beat keeper Carlos Valdés, who had seen little action in the net until then.

During the first half, Panama played in a showy fashion and failed to use a simpler style of play in search of the goal, while Canada, with its peculiar long-ball, was hardly able to threaten national goalkeeper Valdes' net.

In the final minutes, the Canadians trained by Dale Mitchell pressured the Panama goal, but were not able to tie the game.

For his part, Stempel was satisfied with the result, though warned the players that there were still things to be corrected. “The defense was one of our better lines, the team was orderly and their goal only came when we had 10 men on the field, as Irving Bailey had already left injured".
