amacpher
quote:Originally posted by Massive Attack And West Ham continues to go unpunished.... They were punished to the tune of some $10 million. Just not docked any points. Luton Town would need to collect about 75 points (in 46 matches) to avoid relegation.
Massive Attack
West Ham's fine was essentially a bribe. The EPL is a joke for not properly punishing them. I can't see how you can defend that. It was a real tragedy of justice the way it was handled. So much for things being 'fairer' in England. They are just as corrupt as anywhere else. The real grating part is how the EPL is now demanding that West Ham be paid by ManUre. The amount equaling the fine amount. An absolute joke indeed. Sorry, that was actually old news. But West Ham were paid by ManUre for Tevez. The EPL needed to save face so they needed to have a 'transfer' take place. Originally the EPL was insisting the amount be exactly the same as the fine. But it was later lowered. Anyways, the West Ham/Tevez affair is definitely a black eye on English soccer. I mean, it does of course. But you don't have to have an MBA to know that they were f--king-up enough times on their own. They have enough people showing-up at their matches that they should be comfortably a League One team with good management. Besides, its not like they are moving to another city or disappearing all together which is what would happen in the cartel-system used in North American sports leagues (actually they never would've had a team in the first-place in North America).
