After hearing Srdjan impressed with the Canadian camp in Florida I wondered if there had been any interest from TFC, since I think he would be a fine choice for back-up to Sutton. Srdjan explained a few things about all that off the record, which I won't repeat, but on the record he said I could post this on the board concerning his situation, take it as you will, with all the indirect and ambiguous comments included:

"I am happy with my situation in Vancouver where I play on Amateur

contract and am a free player at the end of each season.... As far as Toronto FC is concerned,hmmm its great opportunity to give more Canadian players a chance to play in MLS, give Canadian fans the chance to see the

product, and Im sure with the key Canadian players they have signed

already and Sutts in goal they will have a good season...I have Very

much respect for Sutts after training camp in Florida I had seen him

play before but never had a chance to train with him before, very very

good keeper( and a great guy).... As far as Im concerned there was

interest from a few clubs this offseason, regarding Toronto without

telling you guys too much if there was some interest it obviously

wasnt good enough or serious enough as I am still in Vancouver>> where

I am very happy, we got great organization and a great coach who I

think helped me in many aspects of my game in last 2 seasons even

though I didnt get the chance to play... Hopefully my time comes next

season, if I get to play great, if not thats OK, my key interest is to

continue to get better...We have a great keeper in Vancouver in Tony

Caig (lots of experience and very good overall) and Im just trying to

learn as much as possible from him.... Having played in Europe at

fairly good level in Serbia, I know I have the ability to play in USL

or MLS its just the matter of getting the chance, and God willing it

will come... BUT in the end thats not the goal is it... Goal is going

back to Europe and signing with a big club, and thats why I came

back>> get better while spending time at home, cause right now I dont

have interest in going to Europe to play for small clubs... If

something happens great, if not who knows how things shape up here...

But not too concerned with the situation, key for me is continue to

train hard and continue to get better, and I believe good things will

happen!!!! Like the call up to the National team this year, I didnt

expect it all... I expected to be the starting keeper for U-20s at the

world Cup in UAE few years back, when they went but instead I watched

on TV, whereas this year I didnt expect but got the call...Its funny

how these things work out... Hopefully I get more calls to the

Canadian team, as its a great honour and pride putting that jersey

on!!! Some great players we have on that team and WOW Dwayne is better

than I thought... I think this country's soccer program is moving in

right direction and I would be very disapointed and suprised if we

didnt qualify for 2010 S.Africa.....
