I'll put this in world instead of Canadian Leagues only because in 2006 there are no Canadian teams. Also I don't wanna start an MLS good/bad bitchfest. I just want clarifaction so I can cheer or jeer our future TORONTO FC.

Okay, MLS is a single entity ownership group, right?

All team owners are owners of the league but operate seperate teams?

All players are under MLS contracts, not team contracts?

How are players allocated?

All owners share in the profits and or loses?

Sorry to show my ignorance I only wanna know how MLS operates before I either love or love to hate Toronto FC.

It's comimg I only wanna know how MLS operates.

MLS is run similar to a company. Each owner is considered an investor in the league itself. Not just as the owners of a club.

All contracts are signed under MLS. This does not block a team from going out to search for players.

Revenue sharing does exist on some levels. MLS itself keeps all national sponsorship money while teams can keep their local deal.s

Except most Subway franchises make money.;)

Sports franchises are the most challenging in terms of profitability.

Most take a while before you're in the black, then you never know.

It depends on the sport's popularity and the owner/s' egos.

That must mean it's quite glamourous to you-why else would you spend as much time talking about it as you do? You're obsessed with it.
