Loud Mouth Soup
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/welsh/4078460.stm Wales have made an official complaint about the York Stadium pitch ahead of Saturday's Canada Test in Toronto. Coach Mike Ruddock is concerned about patches in the relaid turf and that the advertising boards are too close to the dead-ball line.
argh1
At the risk of being labled as too local and I don't understand rugby at all. But Simon Pacey of the Fredericton Loyalist club is set to be the first New Brunswicker ever capped by the Canadian National team.....way to go bro. Breakwood
I can see where the complaints are comming from. The pitch has yellow patches everywhere and the ad boards are not much more then a couple metres from the touch lines.
matthew
Where did they play today? I caught five seconds on TV and the stadium looked cosy and useful. Or was it just temporary? You stick some bleachers on the far side and it's a tidy little ground in the Winnipeg Soccer Complex mode. cheers, matthew
Bxl Boy
I just watched 10 seconds of the game and my only reaction was "oh ! what a crappy pitch !"

Massive Attack
This match was played at the now infamous location of the proposed Argo-CSA stadium at York U. I can't believe they made it look that good on TV (the stadium, not the pitch). I'm assuming temporary seating was added to get the attendance up to 12,000. matthew
quote:Originally posted by Bxl Boy I just watched 10 seconds of the game and my only reaction was "oh ! what a crappy pitch !" Now I feel dumb. It's not that I didn't read the first post. I think it's that I didn't realize it was Saturday when I posted. Well the Canadian end zone looked nice and lush and that was about all I saw. I didn't realize that was the same game. The stands looked decent eh? If the far side didn't have those tents, it would have looked pretty good for what it is. cheers, matthew
Desigol
Here's an article on Rugby in Canada. Probably a similar story to Soccer; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/international/4541477.stm
