Peschfan
Seems Marc Bircham has picked up an injury. They dont kno w the extent but seem to think it shouldnt be more thn a couple weeks. Hopefully that is the case and he will be ready to go in August for the Semi Finals. Hers the article from the QPR website BIRCHAM BLOW Midfielder Marc Bircham is to return home from Rangers' Scottish training camp after suffering an ankle injury. The Canadian international turned his ankle this morning and will have the joint scanned in the next 24 hours. The Rangers medical team have confirmed that there appears to be some ligament damage, but it may be insignificant enough to sideline the player for no more than two weeks. Bircham only joined up with the rest of the squad for pre-season training this week having been given extra time off following his international stint with Canada. Now he will begin a rehab programme that will hopefully ensure his availability for the friendlies against Bristol Rovers and Crystal Palace at the end of the month. Elsewhere, Dan ****tu and Nick Culkin have both trained with the first team squad and only Richard Edghill was missing this morning, due to a slight thigh strain. Rangers' begin their pre-season fixtures with a friendly against Highland Premier League outfit Nairn County on Wednesday evening. Ian Holloway's team then take on last season's First Division champions Inverness Caledonian Thistle, before returning to England at the weekend. We will bring you a first report from Rangers' Scottish training camp on Tuesday and further updates throughout the week including action and reaction from the two friendlies. nolando
Man, I know it's late, but am I the only one who thought that this sentence: "Midfielder Marc Bircham is to return home from Rangers' Scottish training camp after suffering an ankle injury." meant that he was suddenly on trial in Glasgow? Andrew W
QPR are also known as Rangers. They are training in Scotland. Don't confuse with Glasgow Rangers. Plus, we all know English Div. I (or the Championship) is a higher level than the SPL, so it would be a step down.
jordan
uhhhhhh..... then again all the div 1 teams can play in europe each year....... and then again Birchams favorite team is Rangers, so it would be a bad move to play for a team he loved
sstackho
Bircham missed a friendly today (the result I won't mention) due to injury. "One player whose start to the season remains in some doubt, though, is Marc Bircham. Birch went for a scan on his injured ankle yesterday and the Loftus Road medical team are treating the midfielder's recocvery with caution. He will not feature this weekend and there remains an outside chance that he will not be fit in time for the opening game of the Coca Cola Champion season against Rotherham."
