Jazic played 90 as Kuban lost 1-3 at home to Zenit St. Petersburg. Looks like they were pushing for a 2nd half comeback when Zenit got their third on an own goal.

Thanks to Grizzly for teaching me how to identify Jazic's name on their web.

The NE/Chicago game is being webcast (video) right now for free via MLSnet.com.

Click this link: http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/sights/ and then follow the links from there. VERY large crowd (40K+) at Soldier Field as this ids the tail end of a doubleheader with the first match featuring US/Poland.

Video quality is excellent, BTW. Almost TV quality.

Atiba Hutchinson played 90 as Helsingborg drew scoreless away to Orebro, while Aguiar did not get off the bench in Landskrona's 1-1 draw away to Kalmar in Sweden top flight.

As Dandal has mentioned that Aguiar picked up a muscle injury in a friendly 10 days ago, and played as a sub in the last league game, are we to understand that he is still doubtful and they didn't want to risk him playing?

Landskrona gets just above relegation zone, and Atiba's team is last, but either could get right out with two straight wins as there are a lot of teams bunched near the bottom.

Trelleborgs FF was also playing this weekend, lost 2-0 away to IFK Göteborg. Ademolu came in as a sub at 68, but didn't manage to do much in that short time. The team had revamped the entire attack since last match - none of the three forward starters that match started this. Didn't help much, though, but I agree that some experimenting is called for (7 goals in 11 matches...).

The benching of Aguiar is now explained in more general match fitness terms. It wouldn't be football though if this didn't fuel conspiracy theories among the fans. The most popular theory is that the head coach was never consulted on Aguiar's signing and consequently refuses to field him.

Fernando has told me that he is only at 80% match fitness after his holiday, plus is still hurting somewhat from the knee injury in the reserve match he played at the start of the month. So he is relaxed about things in terms of playing there. The coach can't afford to be finicky if indeed he gets fit and can help the side.

Also mentioned he is set to play a reserve match soon (think it is tomorrow Wed the 14th vs. Kalmar?) to try to work himself up into full match condition.

Yep, Kalmar reserves tonight at home with both Aguiar and Matondo on the starting line-up. Could have been worth the trip if I hadn't been working.

Ended a scoreless tie. No full match reports but seems Matondo and Aguiar did start, Sita-Taty in a forward position. Interview with Aguiar and references to him and Sita on the Landskrona site, is there any way, if you get a chance Dandal, you could summarize what was said? Appreciate it.

Ciao

DeRo scores the third for San Jose in their 3-0 US Open Cup victory again the Portland Timbers of the A-League.

Apparently there were over 10 000 in Portland for the match tonight. Good stuff.

...translation of Landskrona article...

The fans that came and crouched faithfully under their umbrellas were, of course, most curious about the new Benfica signing, Fernando Aguiar. In all honesty, it must be said that he hasn't played that too wonderfully, even if Dennis Nilsson and others toughs from KFF made sure to keep themselves under control this time. It hurt too much to run into the Portugese guy.

-Again it was evident that he is strong. He makes good passes even if the quality's not always 100%. There is still a fair bit to do in terms of conditioning. I know that the expectations of him are high from the fans, the media and not least from ourselves. But you have to understand that he still has a ways to go before he's in game shape, says Roar and adds,

- The way things seem now, I don't think that Fernando in his wildest fantasies would have expected to be in the middle of a season in Sweden when he got back from holidays. After so many years as a pro in Portugal, he was likely expecting a few weeks of cardio training before there would even be the chance of touching a ball.

BoIS were especially pleased with the attacking duo of Måns Sörensson and Matondo-Sita-Taty. The boys treated all to a few pretty plays, where Måns showed many times that there's a lot of ground to be gained if you (use the dribble?extra step?) Obviously his Ajax-adventure was helpful.
