Desigol
I was chatting to a girl about Nelly Furtado. She said that in Nelly's new album (Folklore) there's a song calloed 'Forca' which is about Soccer. Is this part of the growth in popularity of Soccer in Canada, or just another ethnic fan going on about the motherland?
Desigol
quote:Originally posted by Sigma Forca was written for the Euro 2004 Portugal team. I think Nelly will be in Portugal during Euro 2004 to perform the song at some point during the tournament. Forca means power/go for it or something like that.... According to Michael Viegas, whose living in Portugal, Forca means 'Go on'.
Jarrek
Actually Forca was written for Euro 2004 in general. It will be released on a CD with a collection of "soccer themed" songs by other artists just befoe the tournament begins.
ted
And of course she provided a song for the Official World Cup 2002 album. Oddly enough however it was flagged as a Portuguese song while there was a Canadian song even though we were not there. Must be a story there... I preferred the 1998 CD anyway.
