matty Posted January 20, 2017 Share Posted January 20, 2017 So East Timor have been caught not only fielding players that are ineligible to play with them but forging birth certificates to do so. They played as many as 12 Brazilian players between 2012-15. After successfully doing it to secure their first win in 2012 (which it appears the AFC was aware of but unable to find the line-up info for) they fielded 7 ineligible players in 2015. As a result they're being fined $76,000, having 29 games marked as forfeited and a banning from the 2023 AFC Cup. Crazy!
