CDNFootballer
Chicago NASL team closer to reality : http://www.hottimeinoldtown.com/2016/1/12/10755270/chicago-nasl-team-closer-to-reality The North American Soccer League is very close to coming to Chicago. What has been rumored for quite a while seems to be near reality. It’s hard not to imagine it is all but reality when you see the name Peter Wilt as the lead man for the project. Wilt, Chicago Fire’s first ever president and a key player in the club’s creation, recently departed NASL side Indy Eleven to join Club 9 Sports in pursuit of creating a Chicago NASL team. If Wilt’s involvement alone was not enough to convince skeptics of seeing an NASL side come to fruition, Club 9 Sports involvement should erase most doubts. jedinathan
I've heard rumor that Chicago has already been approved by the Board of Govs in the NASL. Just needing to set up things on the ground before its announced. Based on Wilt's previous experience, as well as the "contractor" status expiring at the end of the spring season, I'd expect an announcement by the fall season about Chicago starting up. jedinathan
The Sting Trust are coming off really whiny and childish in this. NASL Chicago also came out with a statement saying that they were looking to include fan ownership (via shares in the club), while the Trust guys fully admit that they were offered a portion of the club, but turned it down. Just feels like someone is taking their ball and going home.
