Blatter: MLS to adopt the "FIFA calendar" in future

This is causing some confusion.

A lot of people are presuming that Sepp Blatter recently suggested that MLS should switch to a schedule similar to that used in central Europe.

I think that in a roundabout way, Blatter has said that MLS matches will not be played on international match days (as set out in the calendar) in the future.

This would help Canadians the most. Players like Tesho Akindele need to get capped for Canada but might not get the chance this September because Dallas has 2 important games in the same time frame. The US does not have to worry about capping players in the MLS as much as we do since their player pool is much larger than ours.
