The Impact are opting, when finalized, for a defensive solution that is not a defender. Bernardello is a defensive midfielder and his experience will help the club's midfield, especially Patrice Bernier. On paper, the 27-year old represents the perfect combination of youth and experience to help the club get to the next level.

Starting his career with Newell Old Boys, he was transferred to Spanish club Almería at the age of 22 and played over 100 games in Spain's first and second division.

Would love this signing, if it pans out. Excellent at free kicks as well, and would allow Bernier more leeway on the offensive side of the game. Come on Joey get it done!

This would be a good signing but what we really need is another striking option after Di Viao. His absence on Saturday killed us, we had chance after chance and could not score and looked like we could have played another 90 without scoring. Wenger at this point should be loaned out to a lower division team to see if he can score some goals there and get some confidence back.

Totally agree. Would hate to imagine our chances if Di Vaio was to get injured. Paponi is more of a second forward, excellent in holding back to goal, or supporting, but is lacking that killer instinct you'd like to have especially playing with one striker. Wenger could be that player, but I agree he needs to gain in confidence.

Wouldn't mind getting Valentin back from his loan. Would allow Camara to move into central defense, and allow Nesta and Ferrari to rest some games.

I think this is a good signing but it seems a bit strange since midfield is both our strongest and deepest position. Possibly we will trade a midfielder because we will probably need to make some salary cap room. I think we need another striker and defender. Wouldn't mind seeing Valentin back either but not sure if we could fit him under the salary cap at the moment. As for Camara, personally I would take him out of the defence entirely and I even think he is too defensibly liable to put at DM. The game against Dallas he seemed to think he was an AM/striker anyway since he wasn't very often on or near the backline anyway and I was happy that unlike in some previous games we did not pay the price for this. Camara really frustrates me because he has both athleticism and technical ability but such poor soccer intelligence and discipline.
