Julian was basically ostracized in 1999/2000 by Marseille when he went to our U20 qualifying games. It effectively ended his career at that point. Luckily he managed to get a chance with FC Saarbruecken who, at that or any time, were hardly at the level of Marseille. He worked his ass off there and the rest is history.
